The Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Reciprocal Recognition and Exchange of Driving Licenses between the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia and the Ministry for Mobility and Public Works of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg took place on October 16, 2023.
The MOU was signed by François Bausch, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Mobility and Public Works of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and Bold Luvsanvandan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The Memorandum establishes that Mongolian driving licenses are now recognized by Luxembourg, the second European Union member state to do so. Mongolian driving licenses may be exchanged for Luxembourg driving licenses in accordance with the laws of both countries and within the framework of the Memorandum.
Thus, holders of Mongolian driving licenses issued before obtaining a residence permit in Luxembourg may exchange their licenses for Luxembourg driving licenses without taking a theory or practical driving test.
This Memorandum applies to motorcycle driving licenses of categories A and B, with a maximum weight of 3,500 kg and a passenger capacity of less than eight people in addition to the driver.
In 2002, Mongolia's driving license was recognized by Belgium, a member of the European Union.

Chinggis Khaan's Day will be celebrated on 14 November 2023 |
| According to the Mongolian Law on Public Holidays and Anniversaries, Mongolians enjoy a total of nine holidays and anniversaries throughout the year. Specifically, on the 14th of November, known as Great Chinggis Khaan's Day, and the 26th, which marks the Day of the Proclamation of Mongolia, will be observed as public holidays.
The official birthday celebration of Chinggis Khaan has been a public holiday in Mongolia since 2012.
The celebration was started after a group of researchers at the Mongolian Academy of Sciences concluded that Chinggis Khaan was born in the year A.D. 1162 on the first day of the first month of winter on the Mongolian lunar calendar. Therefore, that became the official date of the new holiday.
The date of Chinggis Khaan's Birthday changes on the Gregorian Calendar, but it normally comes sometime in early November.
