EU Global Gateway strategy and financing opportunities

Rooted in the principles of smart, sustainable investments adhering to the EU's high standards and values, Global Gateway seeks to facilitate quality infrastructure projects. The European Union, as the driving force behind this initiative, is committed to nurturing equal partnerships and forming alliances that avoid creating dependencies. Under the Global Gateway umbrella, both existing and future projects are organized based on their alignment with these overarching objectives.

The central focus of Global Gateway is to mobilize a substantial sum of €300 billion by 2027. To achieve this ambitious goal, a collaborative Team Europe spirit prevails, encouraging Member States to actively engage in projects that contribute to the Global Gateway vision. The validation of Member States' projects as contributors to Global Gateway is sought through mutual agreement. Additionally, Member States are invited to enhance their involvement in projects falling under the stricto sensu category. Together, under the banner of Global Gateway, Europe aspires to reshape global connectivity and promote sustainable development in line with its values.
